Often, I post audio and a few text documents to Archive. Actually , I've had this problem a little bit with audio, and sometimes I just delete the file and re-upload it. That sometimes seems to work, but maybe it is just the waiting part that really did the trick.

Recently, I started uploading some videos. One of them works fine, but the other two don't seem to want to stream. I've gone through several posts , and there was one that seemed to suggest that it just takes time, perhaps even several days to derive the format correctly so it will play. Should I delete the file and upload again? Probably I should just leave it alone and wait? I also looked at the FAQs page, and I don't think I'm using a format that can't be streamed. Thanks in advance for any help.
Here are the ones I'm having trouble with:

you uploaded your own mp4s which is fine. but if they don't have the fast start atom then the entire file needs to load before it starts playing. with a large file and a relatively slow ISP chances are the video would play but it would take a long time to start. most users think it's not working, it just takes a very long time.

better to upload either a higher res file as the original (like an mpeg2) or use the extension mpeg4 rather than mp4. since the system will not see an mp4 it will derive one and the archive derived mp4s have the fast start atom.

Thanks for the quick response. I think II'm just going to post them as wmv. I have one video that seems to work in that format. Thanks again.

that's because the player uses mp4s and the archive derived the mp4 from the wmv.
